Howling At The Moon

I decided to look at old software on my new computer. I’ve put some really old stuff on it which works a treat (Antics as an example, which still works perfectly on new machines) and thought I’d look at other programs I’ve bought over the years.

Lightwave was one of the most recent installs. Version 9 was installed and some plug ins added. Sadly although V9 works a treat the LWCAD plugin refused to hold registration details and no matter how many times I put in the serial and key it would always say thanks for registering you’re not registered. So. Sod it. Uninstalled and forgotten about. I don’t have time to piss around with that or contact the site – which has moved, the plug in always says update available! and takes me to the old web site.

Yeah, I’ll just sneak a post in here. I haven’t blogged for ages and haven’t posted here or any other blog I have for at least three years. Just got out of the habit I suppose; even though the last time i blogged I promised to myself that I would make a point of blogging. That worked out well lol.

Got over a bad head cold this week, it sort of started Saturday or Sunday with hints of a sore throat, and revealed itself Monday night when I was woken a few times to clear my nose so I could breath. I got better since then, but me with being an old git, it takes a lot longer than it used to.

I tried reading one of the books I bought, a steam punk adventure, but although the writing was decent enough the characters were real turn offs for me; that and the constant putting the lead characters in mortal danger every twenty or so pages only for them to be then inexplicably safe and continuing their adventure became rapidly boring. I gave up about chapter eight, gave it another chance and then gave up again at chapter twelve.

I’ve got two other fiction books (non SF) to read so maybe I’ll give one of them a shot.
